The Australian Islet Study Group (AISG) Meeting is the premier meeting for researchers interested in all aspects of islet and beta cell function; including secretion pathway mechanisms, islet structure and function, morphology, in vitro and in vivo models, omics and big data considerations. We invite you to attend this exciting annual meeting discussing islet biology as it relates to clinical situations including diabetes and challenges in islet transplantation. The AISG Meeting 2023 will take place on Thursday, 11th & Friday, 12th May 2023 at the Charles Perkins Centre in Sydney (within the Camperdown campus of the University of Sydney).

Speakers
Keynote SpeakerAssistant Professor Samuel Stephens
Samuel Stephens is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center at the University of Iowa in USA. He has expertise in secretory protein biogenesis and trafficking, ER stress response, hormone secretion, metabolism, and pancreatic islet cell function. Assistant Professor Stephens’ laboratory focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that coordinate nutrient metabolism with ß-cell secretory capacity and how dysregulation of these pathways contributes to the loss of ß-cell function in major forms of diabetes.
