ADS Diabetes Technology Workshop 2026

The Australian Diabetes Society is proud to host the ADS Diabetes Technology Workshop which will be held over 1 full day on Monday 17 August 2026 in Melbourne at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.  

The workshop is primarily open to clinical endocrinologists/consultant physicians who manage people living with type 1 diabetes.

The aim of the workshop is to provide structured practical training about insulin pumps and other technologies used in diabetes self-management. This workshop contains new content to reflect the recent developments in insulin pump therapy and CGM technologies. The program will consist of a series of small group workshops and a number of lecture sessions. This will allow for hands-on skills acquisition. Each workshop will be supported by structured written materials. 

Topics to be covered include:

  • Familiarisation and understanding pump settings;
  • Continuous glucose monitoring;
  • Dietary management with AID systems;
  • Automated Insulin Delivery systems;
  • Interpreting technology downloads;
  • Exercise and pumps;
  • New and emerging developments in insulin pump therapy;
  • Clinical situations including management, perioperative situations, pregnancy.

Optional Pre-Workshop:
There will be an option for delegates to attend a pre-workshop on ‘Introduction to Diabetes Technology’ that will be held from 8.00am to 8.30am. This pre-workshop is recommended for those clinicians who have minimal experience with diabetes technology especially in using insulin pumps. Spaces are very limited for the pre-workshop; you will need to advise during the registration process if you wish to attend. 

Networking Social Function:
There will be a networking social function at the conclusion at the workshop from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

Registration Fees:

  • Registration fee includes attendance to the optional pre-workshop, networking social function, program handbook and all the relevant workshop resources/handouts. Attendees will be given the option to apply and trial a CGM sensor on the day. Consent of applying a sensor will need to be provided. CGM sensors must be applied during registration time. 

ADS Member Registration Fee is $319 (includes $29 GST) / Non-Member Registration Fee is $363 (includes $33 GST)

Please note the following conditions:

  • Early registration is recommended as places are strictly limited.
  • Delegates travelling from interstate will need to organise their own travel arrangements (air travel and accommodation) to attend the workshop in Melbourne. It is highly recommended that flights and accommodation is booked as soon as possible.

  • This workshop is currently not open to Endocrinology Advanced Trainees, CDE’s, Nurse Practitioners
