ADS John R Turtle Diabetes Clinical Skills Training Course for Advanced Trainees in Adult Endocrinology

ADS John R Turtle Diabetes Clinical Skills Training Course for Advanced Trainees in Adult Endocrinology is designed to be practical and interactive. It will be run by experienced diabetes clinicians from across Australia and will focus on everyday clinical skills required in the treatment of diabetes by endocrinology trainees. The course is supported by the Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) in Endocrinology from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).

To honour Professor John R Turtle in his retirement, the ADS have resolved that the Course on an ongoing basis will be named The John R Turtle Diabetes Clinical Skills Training Course for Advanced Trainees in Endocrinology.

The 21st ADS John R Turtle Diabetes Clinical Skills Training Course will be held as an online virtual event on Friday 21st July 2023 from 9.30am to 5.30pm (AEST). 

This year, we are offering the following topics to all:

  • Diabetes Technology; Interpreting pump and CGM data downloads
  • Managing Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and Pregnancy
  • Exercise and Type 1 Diabetes

And please state your preference when completing the online registration form for:

  • Carbohydrate Counting OR
  • Managing Lipids

Cancellation Policy:

Please provide the ADS Secretariat notice by no later than Friday 14th July 2023 if you are unable to attend the course.

This course is by invitation and is for Advanced Trainees in Adult Endocrinology ONLY.

Registration for the course closes on Friday 2nd September  2022 but early registration is encouraged as limited places are available. Priority will be given to third-year trainees who have not attended the course previously. The ADS Secretariat will contact you in due course to confirm your registration and advise which workshop group (A-F) you have been allocated. All trainees currently enrolled in adult endocrinology must attend one ADS JRT Course as it is a compulsory component in advanced training.
