SUMMARY:ADIPS Annual Scientific Meeting 2024
DESCRIPTION:The ADIPS Annual Scientific Meeting 2024 will be held 23-25 August at the Esplanade Hotel by Rydges\, Fremantle following after the ADC Congress (21-23 August) in Perth. Visit the meeting website for further information soon at https://www.adipsasm.org/. \nAttending the ADC Congress in Perth?  A bus will be available to transport delegates from 1.30pm at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre to the ADIPS ASM in Fremantle! \nADIPS is a unique organisation that brings together healthcare professionals\, researchers and policy makers\, working in the field of diabetes in pregnancy. Its members and audience include endocrinologists\, obstetric physicians\, general physicians\, obstetricians\, neonatologists\, maternal-fetal medicine specialists\, general practitioners\, diabetes nurses\, credentialled diabetes educators\, midwives\, dieticians and researchers. These health care professionals work within a range of clinical settings from tertiary centres in cities to primary care centres in rural and regional areas spread across the length and breadth of Australia and New Zealand. We are involved in providing a range of care for women with gestational diabetes (that is diagnosed for the first time in pregnancy) as well as for women with pre-existing diabetes right from their preconception planning period. As well as diabetes and obstetric management we screen for complications of diabetes such as retinopathy\, renal disease and cardiac disease and complications of pregnancy such as hypertensive disorders for which this cohort of women are at increased risk. \nThe Annual Scientific Meeting provides a valuable platform to network and interact closely with a broad cohort of healthcare professionals\, in a focused setting at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle over 3 days. \nDiabetes in pregnancy as a field of medicine has evolved over the years. Increasing access to technological advances through federal funding and ground-breaking research have provided significant opportunities to improve maternal and fetal outcomes. The conference brings together pre-eminent international and national clinicians and researchers in the field and will provide an opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals to review emerging technologies and new research.
