SUMMARY:ADS Diabetes Technology Workshop 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Australian Diabetes Society is proud to host the ADS Diabetes Technology Workshop which will be held over 1.5 days on Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 October 2023 in Melbourne at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. \nThe workshop is primarily open to clinicians who consult and manage people living with type 1 diabetes. The aim of the workshop is to provide structured practical training about insulin pumps and other technologies used in diabetes self-management. This workshop contains new content to reflect the recent developments in insulin pump therapy and CGM technologies. The program will consist of a series of small group workshops\, with between 6-8 participants per group. This will allow for hands-on skills acquisition. Each workshop will be supported by structured written materials.  \nTopics to be covered include: \nFamiliarisation and understanding pump settings\, Continuous glucose monitoring\, Dietary management with AID systems\, Automated Insulin Delivery Systems\, Interpreting technology downloads\, Exercise and pumps\, New and emerging developments in insulin pump therapy.\n \n\nYou can download the 2023 ADS Diabetes Technology Workshop Flyer\nYou can download the 2023 ADS DT Workshop Preliminary Program_Day 1 and Day 2 (please check the program for timings AEDT on both days)\n\nOptional Pre-Workshop:\nThere will be an option for delegates to attend a pre-workshop on ‘Introduction to Diabetes Technology’ that will be held on Saturday 28 October from 8:00am to 9:00am. This pre-workshop is recommended for those clinicians who have minimal experience with diabetes technology especially in using insulin pumps. Spaces are very limited for the pre-workshop; you will need to advise during the registration process if you wish to attend. \nNetworking Dinner Function:\nThere will be a ‘Fast & Furious’ session held during the networking dinner function on Saturday 28 October from 5:30pm to 8:30pm with the supporting diabetes technology companies invited to present highlights of their products. \nRegistration Fees:\nRegistration fee includes attendance to both Day 1 and Day 2\, the optional pre-workshop\, networking dinner function on Saturday 28 October\, program handbook\, all workshop resources/handouts. \nADS Member Registration Fee is $198 (includes $18 GST) / Non-Member Registration Fee is $330 (includes $30 GST) \n  \nPlease note that registration is now fully booked for the ADS Diabetes Technology Workshop.  \n\n\nRegister Online\n\n \nPlease note the following conditions: \n\nEarly registration is recommended as places are strictly limited.\nDelegates travelling from interstate will need to organise their own travel arrangements (air travel and accommodation) to attend the workshop in Melbourne.\nIf you are not a member of the Australian Diabetes Society and wish to join; to apply for ADS Membership\, please go to the following link ADS Membership – Australian Diabetes Society via the ADS website to submit your Membership Application Form.\nCancellation fees do apply.
